Joel Mickells, Revgear Sponsored Fighter

Joel Mickells, 25 is from Omaha, Nebraska. His main passion in life is Martial Arts. He trains in various styles – Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Submission Wrestling, Judo, Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do. He trains in Mid-America Martial Arts where he also is an Assistant Coach as well as in Team Vaghi and Team Hough House.

Joel likes to compete in just about everything. His Muay Thai record is 5-0 (he is Thai Boxing Association National 135 lb Tournament Champion), his boxing record is 1-2, his Jiu-jitsu accomplishment is 5 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals (including one in NAGA). Joel’s MMA record is 8-2.

One of Joel’s greatest triumphs was at Victory Fighting Championship in December 2008 when he defeated the previously unbeaten MMA champion Jeremy Wise by armbar submission.

Joel lost his last fight in Denver, Colorado, on March 14, 2009, though it was a close and controversial decision. But defeats never stop him – he always keeps on going, getting ready for the next fight – now at Road to Victory competition on April 17, 2009. Revgear is proud of you, Joel!
